Pre-University Program
The Pre-university Program is aimed to provide students with solid basic course learning, establish a good academic foundation, and help students successfully promote to the bachelor's degree program of this university. This program is designed to connect to the university's bachelor's degree program. After students complete the prescribed study plan and pass all the subjects, they can apply for direct admission to the university's bachelor's degree program.
The Pre-University program is a full-time program with a normal study period of a full academic year. It is comprised of two semesters. Students are required to complete a total of 53 credits for the entire academic year.

2. Students will be required to take Physical Education in the first or second semester.
3. In accordance with the Pre-U regulations on studying of the Intensive Basic Courses, students who fail to meet the entry requirement of the English/Introduction to College Mathematics for the Pre-U program are required to take the Intensive Basic Courses.
Course Description
Course Title: Chinese I/II
Total Credits: 8 (in two semesters)
Period: 1st and 2nd semester
Description: The Pre-U Chinese is positioned to be a preparatory course for undergraduate education. By taking the course, students will be enabled to build up their knowledge in the Chinese language and literature, improve their abilities in comprehension and appreciation of literature works, enhance their abilities in expressing in both spoken forms and writing, in particular, placing great emphasis in improving their writing standards, and thus acquire a solid foundation that will prepare them well for their later professional education as an undergraduate student and social engagements in the future. Besides, the course also aims to cultivate humanistic spirits and noble characters and foster citizen awareness and patriotism in students and help students to shape the right life values.
Course Title: English I/II
Total Credits: 20 (in two semesters)
Period: 1st and 2nd semester
Description: The Pre-U English aims to enhance students’ comprehensive ability in using English. By a series of interactive teaching exercises that comprise classes, online studies and self-studies, the course help students to improve their English abilities in listening, reading, speaking, writing and translation, and therefore prepares them well for later studies in University English.
Course Title: Introduction to College Mathematics I/II
Total Credits: 12 (in two semesters)
Period: 1st and 2nd semester
Description: Introduction to College Mathematics aims mainly to enable students to grasp basic knowledge and basic solutions to elementary mathematics problems, foster students’ abilities in applying mathematical knowledge to solve real-life problems, guide students to formulate favorable learning habits, shape students’ logical reasoning, enhance students’ abilities in abstract thinking, and thus prepare students well for advanced mathematics.
Course Title: General Studies
Total Credits: 8 (in two semesters)
Period: 1st and 2nd semester
Description: General Studies aims to stand in line with advanced educational principles in the international community, inspire the students by exposing them to the essences of human civilizations, and guide the students to grow to become desirable talents for this era, who are equipped with broad knowledge, healthy mentality, perfect characters, improved qualities, scientific spirits and humanistic qualities.
Course Title: Introduction to University Studies
Total Credits: 1
Period: 1st semester
Description: Introduction to University Studies starts by introducing the characteristics of the modern era and its development trends, pursues heuristic education of life values, educational philosophies, individual development, rules and methods for learning under the guidance of new theories in the humanities and liberal sciences, and guides students to adapt to university life and meet with life challenges.

Course Title: Computer Studies
Total Credits: 2
Period: 2nd semester
Description: Computer Studies aims to give the students a full introduction to basic knowledge and various applied technologies in relation to computer science, especially basic operations for personal computers, development of software and hardware, relevant technologies of computer networks and the use of common applications and software, so as to enable students to get hold of the various basic knowledge and computer operation techniques in various fields in the modern society, and prepare them for future studies.
Course Title: Physical Education
Total Credits: 2
Period: 1st or 2nd semester
Description: Physical Education aims to cultivate students' personal health and physical development. Through participating in sports, they can exercise their personal physique, enhance their physical fitness, improve their health and improve their physical literacy, and cultivate students' communication and teamwork skills.
