Cross-faculty Electives

Cross-faculty Electives aim to broaden students’ professional perspectives and enhance their overall abilities. All bachelor’s degree students (except for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and certain individual programs) are required to complete a total of 6 credits in cross-faculty electives courses. Students are required to take specialized subject units/courses from other faculties’ bachelor degree programs (excluding project-based/graduation-based and practice-oriented subject units/courses). Students are free to select the courses based on their own interest in order to fulfill the required credits.

 

Students are generally required to complete the 6 credits of cross-faculty electives in second year with one course per semester.

This course offers an introduction to the basic concepts, frameworks, theories as well as applications of economics. Specifically, it will include the following topics like market and equilibrium, demand and elasticity, supply and cost of perfectly competitive markets, efficiency and the working of the "invisible hand." It will also discuss behaviors of firms in imperfectly competitive markets, such as monopoly and oligopoly. The basic concepts and theories of game theory and information economics will also be briefly talked about. This course will cultivate students' economics way of thinking through learning the concepts, theories and applications. Students are supposed to analyze real questions from economics perspectives after learning this course.

Introduction to management is a required course for all the undergraduate students of School of Business. Basically, management is a science and art, and dynamic as well. This course is expected to enable students to have a full understanding of the importance of management in today’s daily increasing global competitive business environment. It provides students with basic managerial theories, concepts & principles. Emphases are given to the four functions of management, i.e., planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Interaction and integration of medicine and jurisprudence is based on the practice in maintenance of human life, health and dignity and gives birth of medical jurisprudence. The value of nature science and social science interaction is to provide thesis the practical basis for solving conflict and achieve harmony between doctors and patients. Pharmacy & the Healthcare System

The division objective is to let the students know the relevant policy about professional, economy, history and public policy in medicine and health care, including some expected adjustment policy and the role of pharmacists.
